The timing makes sense. DeFi's lending sector is still recovering from a string of oracle-manipulation exploits. Projects have been drained through price manipulation attacks. Liquidation engines, derivative settlement layers, and collateralized debt positions — all of them are vulnerable to a single bad price tick. Chainlink is selling a seatbelt after the crash.
